Freecycle, it`s great!
some one has poasted on my local freecycle asking for a nitendo ds and a lap top and some one was asking for a qunny buzz in the last few days do they realy think they are going to get these my ds wanted a nitendo ds for xmas and it cost me £100 why would you want to give one of them away
free cycle is great i have just had some one come and pick up a baby bath and a load of blue baby towels my cousion has brought me some lovely pink ones for this little one but i just couldnt be bothered with ebay and poasting and they are to good to be chucked away.
There was a WANTED for a Phil and Teds with double seat on ours last week. Couldn't believe it. Would be gutted if they got one as I paid just short of £500 for mine a couple of months ago. Suppose if you don't ask, you don't get.

someone has posted today on our site asking for a quinny zapp!! Some people are unbelievable! I fancy a Phil and teds but wouldnt dare ask for something like that- some people dont understand the point of it, to share things and save the space in landfill- not to be a grabber and take the pi$$.

I use the local freeshare group here all the time. Our freecycle got hijacked and we had to call ourselves something else.
Theres sometimes posts for the most rediculous things, we had one woman asking for a car that was taxed and MOt'd. Next day a nice polite reminder form the moderators to think before posting wants lol.
I have got rid of loads of stuff on there and get it picked up from the house and have also posted requests. Most have been replied to within a day.
I suggested we do a car booty one for people with things too good just to give away and it has also been a success.
I know what you mean about the manners thing, its mostly people with the biggest wants with the least manners. I have always been gratefull for anything I get and send an email asap afterwards to thank them. This also seems to be returned from the other ones I have shared with.
My best one was a post from a lady offering 10 roll of turf, i got it, laid it and sent her a picture of my lovely new lawn. All within 2 hours.
